WEBINAR: Opening the Multilingual Archive of Australia: Digital Humanities and Virtual Archives

The website Opening the Multilingual Archive of Australia is a virtual archive that connects sources from public and private collections of non-English language materials on Australian history. Going behind the scenes of the website, we will demonstrate the underlying relational database (built on the Heurist platform) and its relation to the user interface. Using key examples from different languages, we will demonstrate the possibilities for annotating and translating records and linking them together as well as to secondary sources.
