This class is for anyone working with adult learners. If you are teaching a one-shot session in an academic library, instructing a training workshop in a public library, leading a training session in a special library, or helping a library user learn a new skill, it is important to consider the needs of adults. In this course you will learn about andragogy, which emphasizes self-directed learning, and heutagogy, which emphasizes self-determined learning, and walk away with practical strategies for leading instruction for adults. Learners in this course will be able to: Describe andragogy and heutagogy; Apply the principles of andragogy and heutagogy; Develop instructional materials using the principles of andragogy and heutagogy.
