CLASS: Mastering Instructional Video Design
Credits: 2.25 CEUs or 22.5 PDHs
Are you looking to create engaging instructional videos to support your students, faculty, or staff? Whether you’re new to video creation or looking to refine your skills, this four-week course will guide you through the process of designing and producing impactful instructional videos. From teaching simple tasks like using the catalog to more advanced database searching skills, these videos can enhance information literacy instruction in courses, support one-on-one consultations, and provide on-demand learning for common research needs.
In this course, you’ll use Camtasia for video production and Audacity for audio recording. You’ll learn how to write clear and engaging scripts, record professional-sounding audio, screencast effectively, and visually convey complex concepts. The course will also cover accessibility best practices to ensure your videos are inclusive and usable by all learners. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to produce polished instructional videos with branded intros and outros that can be shared across your institution to empower learners anywhere, anytime.
