This case study highlights an innovative cross-institutional collaboration between Huston-Tillotson University (HT) and The University of Texas at Austin (UT). In Spring 2023, a workshop series was developed at UT to support students from a pioneering Afro-Latin American History and Culture course offered at HT. The course and workshops engaged students with primary sources and digital collections centering Afro-Latin American perspectives and community agency. This collaboration underscores the transformative impact of archival partnerships to build vital archival skills and enhance student learning of Afro-Latin American history and culture.
