This case study explores a library instruction at the Gordon W. Prange Collection, University of Maryland Libraries, focusing on utilizing oral histories for historical research. The session aimed to deepen students’ research skills and their understanding of the importance of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources. Moving forward, the author intends to expand the pedagogical use of the Marlene Mayo Oral Histories and other archival materials at the Prange Collection beyond History and/or Japanese Studies classes at the University of Maryland campus community. The collaborative efforts between the author and the faculty member were also addressed.
